As you may gather from the brand names of the wine produced for Laithwaites Wine, John has an affiliation with the stony valley floor of the Marlborough region where he grew up, he recalls the aromas of wet stone when playing in the rivers, in the summer as a child. And even in the wines John produces, you can sometimes make out those same aromas running through the wines. On a visit to the winery you will certainly not miss the large Stonewall which greets wine lovers from around the world as they enter the winery grounds at Forrest Estate.

The winemaking family have been making globally exclusive wines for Laithwaites for several years under the label 'Stonewall' including a Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.
